Luca Hoffmann-
New Orleans born and raised photographer, Luca Hoffmann has always had a camera in his hand after first learning photography from his Mother at the age of 14 . From a young age Luca was captivated by the Mississippi river and the Industrial refineries that surround it. His work captures the Beauty and destructiveness of both the industrial and natural landscapes in Louisiana. Luca discovered his calling with his first major body of work titled “Pushing Boundaries” Luca Graduated from Benjamin Franklin High school in May 2020 and will be attending Maine College Of Art. In 2018 he spent the summer learning from Berlin photographer Winfried Mateyka, right hand of renowned photographer Michael Schmidt. Luca’s close mentor, Thom Bennett, member of the New Orleans Photo Alliance, introduced him to the large format and kallitype process. Luca Shoots mainly digital and 35mm black and white film. Luca has Collaborated with local composer Ben Zervigion on many mixed media pieces.
Luca’s work has been featured at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art summer camp show(New Orleans) and the 2019 Slow Exposures Young Photographers’ Exhibit( Concord, Ga) . Luca’s work received 2nd place at the 2019 Slow Exposures Young Photographers exhibit. Lucas' work showcased at Louisiana contemporary 2022 at Ogden Museum Of Southern art. Luca’s work also was at The Contemporary Arts Center of New Orleans 22 October 2022 - 23 February 2023.

Education:
• First year finished in BA in photography at Maine College of Art (class of 2024)

• Worked as photography Intern at M.S. Rau Antiques photographing antiques particularly canes with a large digital format camera. I learn commercial photography lighting and placement. Assisting and learning fr om the photographers I learned skills to photograph canes, tabletop objects, glass, and paintings(2022-2023)
